The list of problems of beekeeping sector in the project region is long. These problems are classified as follows in terms of complexity of measures required by their solutions;
The solution of most of the existing problems depends on the work to be done at the regional and national level. Therefore, in the region covered by the project, there is a need for a strong organization to carry out the work towards solving problems effectively and with a result-oriented focus.
Based on this need, it is aimed to establish an organization structure in which key stakeholders in the sector will work together. The main building block of this organization will be the Regional Beekeeping network (BAA). The structure to be created for the BAA is given in Figure 1. BAA management consists of;
Advisory Board; It was formed from key stakeholders in the region. Key stakeholders consist of 21 public institutions and professional organizations. Due to the diversity of stakeholders in the Advisory Board, the sector can be represented by all dimensions. The Advisory Board is the supreme body of the BAA structure and the main working unit from which decisions concerning the sector will be taken. The duties of the Advisory Board are as follows;
Members of the Advisory Board were formed from representatives of the following institutions.
Monitoring and Evaluation Unit; Arım Balım will be formed by partners of Peteğim Project. There are 9 project partners in total. A joint public institution of project partners, there are 8 professional organizations. Due to this feature, the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit is largely a structure that represents the beekeepers and SMEs in the sector. The tasks of the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit are as follows;
Monitoring and Evaluation Unit members will consist of representatives of the following institutions.
Executive and Coordination Unit; It consists of the Promotion and Marketing Unit, Consulting Contact Points and the Quality Certification Center in the BAA. It is the main unit responsible for carrying out the activities related to the sector. The functions of the Executive and Coordination Unit are as follows;
It prepares funds, creates and implements projects to the granting and supporting institutions in order to ensure the financing required by the services and the works.
